Permaculture is a practice of honoring ecological systems in order to be in sacred ith all that is.

Why Permaculture?

Permaculture is about creating systems that work in harmony with nature, allowing us to grow food while regenerating the land. It's a vital practice for anyone who wants to live more sustainably, grow their own food, and promote healthy ecosystems. In permaculture, we learn to “respecting natural ecosystems, allowing us to live in harmony and reciprocal balance with the earth and all its life forms." By focusing on soil health, water conservation, biodiversity, and natural pest control, permaculture helps create abundant gardens that work with nature, not against it.

Testimonials from participants who took our most recent two day courses:

"The course held at the lovely Mlango farm was truly inspiring! It demonstrated that implementing integrated permaculture techniques around my home is both achievable and straightforward. I am eager to apply the knowledge I have gained." ~ S.B, FAO (Cohort 1)

"Attending a gardening course for the first time was a new experience for me. Prior to this, I had never been involved in gardening and my attempts at creating kitchen gardens were unsuccessful due to my lack of knowledge about arrangement, spacing, watering, and land topography. Mark Johannes from the Netherlands recommended this course to me, and thanks to MAF Kenya, I was flown to Nairobi to participate. The knowledge I gained from the course has been invaluable. In my hometown of Laisamis in Marsabit, where I currently reside and work, there is a high prevalence of malnutrition. I plan to use the skills acquired in this course to help establish proper kitchen gardens that provide a variety of food groups to combat anaemia and malnutrition." - M.G (Cohort 1&2, from Marsabit)
